Micron Optics Expands Its Tunable Technology Capability
With the acquisition of Chameleon Optics, Micron Optics Inc. of Atlanta will expand its technology, which is based on fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filters, to address applications in telecommunications and optical sensing. Chameleon Optics' thin-film filters can be tuned across multiple optical bands. They include two-port filters and three-port ones that can be used in networks as reconfigurable add/drop filters.
