Optics for Hire, NDR to Develop Ophthalmoscopes
ARLINGTON, Mass., Dec. 23 -- Optics for Hire and New Dimension Research and Instrument Inc. (NDR) said they will collaborate on a new generation of ophthalmoscopes. Optics for Hire will develop the mechanical design and construct prototype units under contract from NDR and using NDR's optical design.
The NDR system will offer doctors a low cost, hand-held, ophthalmoscope incorporating an addressable laser/detector array chip, a digital image processor and a liquid crystal display in one system
The Optics for Hire research and development team is comprised of 18 physicists, optics PhD's, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers and CAD designers based in Ukraine. They have worked together on optics technologies including endoscopes, projection and display systems, therapeutic lasers and optical disc drives.
