Sierra Research Receives Defense Contracts
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 31 -- Integrated Defense Technologies Inc.'s subsidiary, Sierra Research, announced it was awarded a contract worth more than $7 million for three fiber optic data multiplex systems (FODMS). The FODMS system is the backbone of the interior systems communication on Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. This award is the first option in a multiyear $50 million contract with the US Navy.
Sierra Research was also awarded a $1.8 million contract for eight ship sets of its station keeping equipment, an airborne electronic system that provides measurement and display of relative position and the interchange of information between aircraft.
Sierra Research, located in Buffalo, N.Y., is part of the Integrated Defense Technologies Electronic Combat Systems Group.
