Canadian Schools to Get Fiber Network
OSHAWA, Ontario, Jan. 15 -- Canadian communications network service provider Cygnal Technologies Corp. and Hydro One Telecom announced that Cygnal's Data Network Solutions Group has won a $3.6 million contract to build the fiber optics infrastructure for both the private and public school boards in Peel Region, making it one of the largest such communications network undertakings for a school system in Canada.
Working with Hydro One Telecom, Cygnal will design and install a 1 GB super-fast, high-capacity fiber optic network that will allow all students and staff to simultaneously connect to the Internet. Video streaming and distance learning are other likely applications.
