TeraXion Acquires Phaethon Communications

TeraXion Inc. of Sainte-Foy, Quebec, Canada, a de- signer and manufacturer of dispersion compensators based on fiber Bragg gratings for high-speed optical networks, has purchased the patents, trademarks and technological expertise of Phaethon Communications Inc., of Fremont, Calif. Phaethon's optical dispersion compensation technology will complement TeraXion's manufacturing approach, which uses holographic phase masks.
