BIOLASE Technology Inc. a medical technology company, announced it has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its Waterlase system for use in apicoectomy surgery, a treatment for root canal infections and complications. The Waterlase uses laser-energized water to cut teeth.

Thermogenic Imaging, a company formed to commercialize a new technology for drug discovery developed by GlaxoSmithKline and FLIR Systems Inc. The technology, thermal signature analysis, uses ultrasensitive infrared imaging to measure unique thermal signatures in cells and animals that are indicative of disease, genetic variations or drug function.
