Indigo Systems Honored for Human Resources Program
GOLETA, Calif., Feb. 13 -- Indigo Systems' human resources department received the top honor for the second consecutive year from the Santa Barbara Human Resources Association (SBHRA).
Debbie Horne, manager of human resources, and Victoria White, organization and employee development specialist, received the Super Star award at the annual SBHRA luncheon, held Jan. 15. E. Tim Fitzgibbons, president and CEO of Indigo Systems, was the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony.
Horne and White designed a management training and employee assessment program to meet the company's need for a fair and relevant appraisal system. The CORE Toolbox, a competency-based organizational recruitment and employee evaluation process, was developed and tested at Indigo Systems. The system helps managers to define technical and performance/behavioral skills required for a position, to create job descriptions and interview questions based on those skills and to assess employees' abilities.
The developers said Indigo's employees benefit from the system because they have a clear idea of what is expected of them and on what they will be assessed, and managers benefit from having objective criteria to asses them.
Indigo develops infrared cameras and solutions for security and surveillance, preventive maintenance, military and government, commercial and R&D applications.
