eMagin Scrapping Field Emission Equipment
HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y., Feb. 26 -- eMagin Corp., a developer of active matrix organic light-emitting diode (OLED) microdisplays, said it plans to sell its field emission device (FED) processing equipment and either license or sell its FED intellectual property portfolio. It is not selling its OLED manufacturing equipment
or intellectual property.
"In the past, we considered continuing investigations of FED technology applications beyond flat-panel displays, but our efforts have fully shifted to OLEDs. Thus, it is prudent to offer our FED assets to other parties who might be able to make constructive use of it," said Susan Jones, eMagin's chief marketing and strategy officer.
The equipment sale will be held March 20 and will coordinated by DoveBid Inc.
