CyOptics Acquires Manufacturing Plant

InP device supplier CyOptics Inc. of Waltham, Mass., has purchased the optical component packaging capabilities of Cenix Inc. of Irvine, Calif. The acquisition includes the equipment, inventory and intellectual property of Cenix's development and manufacturing plant in Allentown, Pa. CyOptics will gain the capacity to supply electroabsorption-modulated and distributed feedback lasers and to provide customized parts for volume applications such as lasers and detectors for small-form-factor transponders and transceivers.
