Research into Helmet-Mounted Systems Continues
Universal Display Corp. of Ewing, N.J., has received a two-year, $729,996 Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract from the US Army to advance its conformable and transparent display technologies. It will focus on developing active matrix displays that will incorporate its proprietary phosphorescent organic LED technology. The research will support the Army's goal of realizing flexible, miniature, high-resolution, full-color organic LED displays for helmet-mounted systems, and it may advance commercial applications such as head-up displays for automotive windshields.
