DRS Awarded Thermal Imaging Sensor Contracts
PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 13 -- DRS Technologies Inc. announced today it has been awarded new contracts to provide AN/SAY-1 thermal imaging sensor system (TISS) spares for use on board US Navy surface ships.
The contracts, with a combined value of approximately $2.5 million, were awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point in Mechanicsburg, Penn. The DRS Sensors & Targeting Systems unit in Anaheim, Calif., will perform the contract work. Product deliveries are expected beginning April 1 through 2004, DRS said.
TISS systems are used for mine detection, surveillance, navigation and other operational uses.
