Evaporated Metal Films, of Ithaca, N.Y., announced it has upgraded its coating chamber, enabling it to coat optics up to 2.3 meters. Dedicated program management is available for satellite mirrors, telescope mirrors, training simulators and infrared imaging systems.

Robotic Vision Systems Inc. said it has received an order for four of its WS-2500 bumped wafer inspection systems from an Asian semiconductor company for use in high-volume manufacturing. WS series systems cost from $500,000 to more than $1 million.

Daniel P. Burnham has resigned, effective July 1. Burnham will continue to serve on the board as nonexecutive chairman.
William H. Swanson, president of Raytheon, will succeed Burnham as CEO.
