Nikon Precision Inc., the North American lithography subsidiary of Nikon Corp., Japan, has appointed
Bernie Wood as director of marketing for its US operations. Most recently, Wood was the vice president of marketing for Therma-Wave, a Fremont, Calif.-based manufacturer of process control metrology equipment to the semiconductor industry.
. . . Edmund Industrial Optics has released its 2003 Edmund Optics Japan optics catalog. The 180-page catalog, written in Japanese with pricing in Yen, provides information and selection guides for over 100 new products, including eight unique products for the Japanese market, such as Zap-it laser alignment papers, shortpass filters, JAI progressive scan cameras and CS-mount board-level cameras. Photonic Products Ltd. has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise 2003 in the international trade category. The company distributes laser diodes and manufactures optoelectronic components based on semiconductor laser diode technology for applications including biomedical instrumentation, DNA sequencing, spectroscopy, microscopy, genomics, industrial inspection, free space optical communications and reprographics. Its US office is in El Segundo, Calif. The Queen's Awards are the UK's top awards for business performance.
