Lumenis Ltd. announced it has entered into a two-year multisource agreement with HealthTrust Purchasing Group, based in Brentwood, Tenn., to supply laser and light-based devices and services to HPG's 900 health care facilities nationwide. . . . Cognex Corp., a supplier of machine vision systems and sensors, announced it has been certified as an authorized provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, enabling Cognex Educational Services to award continuing education units to students who complete its vision courses at its education centers and in customer facilities. Cognex's courses include demonstrations, hands-on instruction for hardware and software installation and lab exercises to help students develop inspection strategies, select the best lighting techniques and lenses and learn to set vision tool parameters. . . . Plymouth, Mich.-based Perceptron announced that its 3-D scanning technology has been adopted by LK Metrology Systems, of Brighton, to provide noncontact laser inspection capability for its coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) that is up to three times faster than touch probe technology. The new technology integrates a Perceptron laser probe and software with a CMM for the inspection of sheet metal parts.
