Syngene, a manufacturer of image analysis technology, has opened its new US headquarters in Frederick, Md. Syngene is a division of the Cambridge, Mass.-based Synoptics Group. The group's other divisions, Syncroscopy and Synbiosis, specialize in digital imaging solutions for microscopy and microbial applications.. . .Photon Control Inc., a Canadian developer of photonic sensors and controls, has signed an agreement with Powertech Labs Inc. to begin a joint evaluation of Photon's temperature sensing technology to measure temperature inside high-voltage transformers.. . .Brillian Corp., a subsidiary of Three-Five Systems Inc. (TFS) and a provider of microdisplay products and systems, announced that David P. Chavoustie will join its board of directors when Brillian becomes a new, publicly traded company after its spinoff from TFS, expected to be completed in mid-2003. Chavoustie will leave the TFS board, on which he has served since January 2000. He is executive vice president of sales and marketing at ASML Ltd., a European manufacturer of lithography equipment..
