Littleton, Colo.-based Holiday Creations Inc. has signed a licensing agreement with Fiber Optic Designs Inc., of Yardley, Pa., to manufacture and market decorative lighting products using Fiber Optic Designs' patents for light-emitting diode (LED) light strings that can be driven by alternating current without a transformer and for LED light sets driven by low-voltage series/parallel arrays. Holiday Creations will manufacture and market the LED lights, including the Forever Bright brand, starting next year.

LEDs have altered the appearance of the Park Hotel Weggis at Lake Lucerne, Switzerland; they illuminate A 20-foot-high facade and the interior of Acquarius Hall, a new addition, with some 84,000 Osram Power TOPLEDs. Osram is a Munich-based manufacturer of lamps and optoelectronic light sources.
