Raytheon Wins Helicopter Sensor Contract
The US Army's Special Operations Command has awarded Raytheon Co. of El Segundo, Calif., a $110.8 million contract for the design and delivery of 128 electro-optic sensor systems for helicopters. The ZSQ-1 (V) systems will enhance the navigation, surveillance and targeting functions of the aircraft as well as improve mission performance and situational awareness during day or night operations. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems will produce two versions of the sensor suites, which will contain laser rangefinders or spot trackers/designators, laser pointers, FLIR sensors, image-intensified television, and processing and control electronics.
