3M Foundation Helps Fund Laser Training
The 3M Foundation, based in St. Paul, Minn., has donated $70,000 to Linn State Technical College to support the Laser/Photonics Technology program offered at the Advanced Technology Center in Mexico, Mo. Of the total grant, $50,000 is allotted for laser- and photonics-related equipment and $20,000 for multimedia projection equipment for the laser laboratory and classrooms. The program's objective is to train technicians to operate, maintain and repair lasers and related optical equipment for the advanced manufacturing and fiber optic industries.
