LaserSight Files for Bankruptcy
WINTER PARK, Fla., Sept. 5 -- LaserSight Inc. announced today that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and reorganization in the US Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, Orlando Div., due to "continued cash-flow issues."
LaserSight is a supplier of laser vision correction technology; the company's LaserSight Technologies subsidiary makes excimer lasers, which surgically correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
The company previously reported that for the nine months ending on Sept. 30, 2002, revenues decreased 30 percent to $6.6 million, which it attributed to lower sales of its LaserScan LSX excimer laser system.
