Michael Barnes, retired senior vice president and CFO of Rockwell International Corp., has been elected to the board of AMD, a global supplier of integrated circuits for the personal and networked computer and communications markets. . . . Ultratech Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based supplier of photolithography systems used to manufacture semiconductors and nanotechnology devices, including gold and solder bump lithography, announced that a major North American microprocessor manufacturer has placed an order for additional steppers from its Saturn Spectrum 300 bump family for 300 mm wafer manufacturing at its European facility.
