Lightcross to Merge with Arroyo Optics
California-based suppliers to the telecommunications equipment industry, Arroyo Optics Inc. of Santa Monica and Lightcross Inc. of Monterey Park, have agreed to merge, forming a company to be known as Arroyo Optics. It will consist of products and technologies developed with more than $50 million of R&D capital provided by private equity investors. With the added financial resources and combined technological platforms, the company intends to expand its customer base. Its products, including Arroyo's flexible wavelength management systems and Lightcross' integrated silicon-based optical products, are designed for fiber optics infrastructure applications in high-bandwidth communications.
