Diploma Program Offered for Photonics Professionals
EP3, the Education Program for Photonics Professionals, is a series of six courses, each eight weeks long, for working scientists and engineers who require core educational background in optics and photonics. Designed and taught by faculty of the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, the university-level courses cover optical design, physical optics, lasers and electro-optics, optical communications, and radiometry and photometry. The curriculum is based on an analysis of industry needs with input from an industrial advisory board. The full program can be completed in 18 to 24 months with part-time study on campus or via Internet conferencing. Participants successfully completing all courses receive a university diploma. A new session begins in January. Visit Web address ep3.uwaterloo.ca for full information.
