Integrated Photonics Technology Sells Business Unit
CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan. 1 -- Integrated Photonics Technology (IPITEK), a private advanced technology corporation based in Carlsbad, Calif., announced that it recently sold a small business unit involved in the development of secure optical data link technology from its Aerospace and Defense Business Division. This sale did not include the entire division or any other operating division of the company, IPITEK said.
IPITEK continues to own and operate the Aerospace and Defense Business Division, which develops optical systems for defense and aerospace applications. IPITEK develops and manufactures systems and supporting component technologies for a variety of classified and unclassified customers, including the US military, government agencies, and prime contractors to the Department of Defense.
IPITEK said it is also retaining all other operating divisions of the company, including IPITEK Network Systems, a manufacturer of broadband optical communications systems for analog and digital transmission in cable, closed circuit and security/surveillance operations.
IPITEK's other divisions include IPITEK Photonic Components and IPITEK Sensor Products.
