Manfred Gehrtz has been named corporate vice president and general manager, Europe, at Given Imaging Ltd. Gehrtz was previously managing director of the European endoscopy and medical systems market at Olympus Europa GmbH, and was managing director and CEO of Aesculap-Meditec GmbH, a medical device company that develops laser systems for surgery, ophthalmology and dermatology applications. Given Imaging makes the M2A capsule endoscope, which is injested by a patient to transmit color images of the small intestine.
