Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI), of Nashua, N.H., said it has received an order for its WS-series flip-chip inspection system from a large semiconductor company. The order is the sixth system to be purchased by the customer since December 2001; RVSI's systems are used for multiple inspection points in the company's flip-chip assembly process. RVSI also said it has received an order for its WS-2500 bumped wafer inspection system from a major Korean subcontract bumped wafer foundry previously using a competitive system. The order, the first WS-series system to be purchased by this company, will be used for surface defect inspection on bumped wafers being supplied to a large Asian semiconductor manufacturer.
