Don Jarvie has been named national sales manager of the
Melles Griot Optics Group in Rochester, N.Y., a provider of optical components, multielement lenses and contract-manufactured electro-optic assemblies to OEM manufacturers. Jarvie was previously North American business development manager, senior product manager and sales manager at EXFO's Burleigh Division, in Fishers, N.Y. Prior to that, he was sales engineer and project manager at Fresnel Optics and GCA-Tropel,
respectively.
. . . University of Arizona Optical Sciences Center (OSC) PhD candidate
Nathan Hagen was recently awarded the Christopher Karl Schultz Memorial Scholarship. The university said Hagen's outstanding scholastic ability and research work in the development of visible-light imaging spectropolarimeters demonstrate his research promise in applied optics and exemplify the spirit of the award, established in 2001 in memory of a former OSC PhD candidate. Hagen, the second student to receive the scholarship, is a graduate research assistant for Eustace Dereniak, professor of optical sciences and electrical and computer engineering.
