NSG America Inc. Expands Outsourcing Offerings

SOMERSET, N.J., March 2 -- NSG America, creator of the SELFOC lens and a supplier of gradient-index lenses, has expanded its manufacturing facility in southeast Asia, NSG Micro Optics Philippines (NMO), which focuses on volume manufacturing of optical component and assembly requirements.

Simin Cai, COO of NSG America Inc., said the company's Original Opti-Sourcing program, designed to enhance customers' design, research and manufacturing capabilities, was well received at the 2004 annual Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC), held last week in Los Angeles.

"We're reshaping our marketing concept from product-centric to service-centric," Cai said.

Yoshiro Yakushi, CEO, said, "Our new facility at NMO offers highly trained labor skilled in optical packaging technologies. Our rigorous approach of transfering customer design to high-volume assembly enables NSG to optimize the manufacturing process."
