Dow and Osram to Develop Polymeric LED Display Technology

Dow Chemical Co. of Midland, Mich., has signed an agreement with Osram Opto Semiconductors GmbH of Regensburg, Germany, to supply commercial quantities of Lumation light-emitting polymers for use in Osram's Pictiva polymeric LED display modules. Dow's polymers are the key light-emitting material in Osram's platform for producing bright, high-contrast, low-voltage emissive displays, which are used in a variety of wireless and medical devices. The multiyear accord will provide a flexible, self-adjusting pricing structure for the companies. Specific terms of the agreement were not publicized.
