Heraeus Noblelight Purchases Light Sources Company in UK
Precious metals and technology company Heraeus Noblelight GmbH, based in Hanau, Germany, has acquired specialty light sources maker Cathodeon Ltd. through its subsidiary, Heraeus Noblelight Ltd., both in Cambridge, UK. Heraeus plans to strengthen its business in lamps for optics and analytics and to broaden its offerings in the area of analytical measurement. Cathodeon's glass and hollow cathode lamps are expected to complement Heraeus' quartz lamp technology. Cathodeon manufactures light sources for UV and atom absorption spectroscopy, high-pressure liquid chromatography and other analytical measuring methods.
