Rofin-Sinar Obtains 90 Percent of Optoskand
In a cash transaction, Rofin-Sinar Laser GmbH of Hamburg, Germany, has acquired 90 percent of the common stock of Optoskand AB. Permanova Holding AB secures the remaining stock. The acquired Mölndal, Sweden, company, which manufactures high-power fiber optic beam delivery systems and components for solid-state lasers, will continue to operate as a stand-alone business and to provide its products to other laser manufacturers.
Rofin-Sinar Laser is an affiliate of laser source and laser-based systems supplier Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. of Plymouth, Mich., a long-time customer of Optoskand.
