Ohio Firms to Develop Flexible Plasma Displays

Imaging Systems Technology (IST) of Toledo and Extreme Photonix of Cincinnati have joined forces to develop full-color flexible plasma displays using color conversion. IST will provide plasma display technology, including its hermetically sealed Plasma-spheres, which require no thin-film transistor active matrix and enable a cost-effective roll-to-roll process. Extreme Photonix will contribute its Hybrid I/O color-converted inorganic/organic light-emitting display, which aims to combine the qualities of both types of displays for improved brightness, lifetime and power consumption.
