Fusion UV Systems Inc., based in Gaithersburg, Md., has appointed Michael Cook as general manager for its ultraviolet (UV) curing operations and business activities in Europe. Most recently, Cook worked for ten years with Raychem Corp. Fusion UV has also hired new staff members in its China and Japan businesses. Francis Yang Fan is application/service engineer for Fusion UV Shenzhen/South China, where he will cover the South China market, including Jujian province. He previously worked for Loctite China. Fujiko Node has joined Fusion UV's Japan office in custom engineering, where she is responsible for designing engineered UV curing systems. She was formerly with Toshiba, where she designed diesel engines and parts including pistons, gaskets and engine covers, and with Sony HQ Development Center, where she worked on 3-D design simulation and CAD/CAM database management. Fusion UV Systems, is a member company of Spectris plc, a Surrey, England, supplier of UV curing systems and UV-based process solutions. . . . Gamma Scientific, a San Diego, Calif., manufacturer of precision light measurement instruments, announced it has launched a new Web site, at www.gamma-sci.com. The site is a general light measurement information resource that includes a series of tutorials on a wide variety of measurement issues. Visitors may also sign up for the company's E-mail newsletters to stay informed about products, applications and techniques. Gamma Scientific is an optical radiation calibration laboratory and manufacturer of precision light measurement instruments, including photometers, colorimeters, laser eye safety power meters and other optoelectronic devices.
