eMagin Corp., a Hopewell Junction, N.Y., manufacturer of active matrix organic light-emitting diode (OLED)-on-silicon displays, announced that
DRS Technologies Inc. is using its SVGA+ microdisplay as a key element in a new handheld thermal imager used in military surveillance and detection applications. DRS will exhibit the equipment at Eurosatory, being held this week in Villepinte, France.

Nikon's 30th International Small World Competition, open to all microscopists, who may submit any type of light microscopy -- with no restrictions on specimens or techniques (brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, interference contrast, fluorescence, confocal, deconvolution, mixed techniques, etc.) First prize is $3000 in Nikon photographic, scientific or industrial equipment and accessories.
