Optics Design Facility Opens in Hawaii
Oceanit of Honolulu has opened a business unit, the Maui Optical Systems and Imaging Center (Mosaic), in Kihei, Hawaii, to serve the state's emerging optics and laser industry as well as clients nationwide. Located in the Maui Research and Technology Center, the new unit will help develop laser and optical components and instruments by providing optical and mechanical design, fabrication, assembly and testing services.
To produce a skilled labor force, it will lend its support to optics and laser education in Hawaii. Custom telescope design and fabrication, doublet and triplet lenses, telecentric lens systems and complete optomechanical assemblies are among its offerings, which encompass prototype to small production runs.
