Koheras Acquires Majority Shares in German Company

Based in BirkerØd, Denmark, Koheras has acquired a 51 percent equity share in LG Laser Technologies GmbH of Kleinostheim, Germany, and has signed an option agreement enabling it to purchase up to 86 percent of the shares at a later date. The acquisition will provide Koheras, a company in the NKT Photonics Group, with a platform in the German market, which has a demand for its particular specialty of high-power lasers. Of equal size in terms of revenue and number of employees, the companies are expected to complement each other in technological expertise, products and market access.
