All-Optical Signal Regenerator to Be Commercialized
San Jose, Calif.-based electronics contract manufacturer Sanmina-SCI Corp. and Kailight Photonics, which has operations in Dallas and Rehovot, Israel, have partnered to design, manufacture and market Kailight's tunable signal regeneration products. To support the collaboration, the Israel-US Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation has approved a $1 million investment.
Kailight Photonics' modules are designed to operate within optical regenerators, switches, routers, add/drop multiplexers and cross connects at rates of 1 to 42.5 Gb/s.
