LED 'Torches' Light Olympic Venue
ATHENS, Greece, August 5 -- The Gazi Technopolis in Athens, Greece, has been transformed from an old gas factory into a cultural venue with a unique look, particularly at night. Designed by Duilio Passariello of Philips LiDAC Europe, the former factory chimneys, made of brick, mortar and steel, glow in vibrant, saturated colors.
Using Philips LEDLine luminaires, each chimney is lit with just 64 Luxeon LEDs. Each chimney is 25 meters tall, 2.5 meters wide at the bottom and 1 meter wide at the top.
