Eastman Kodak Co. has opened a multimillion-dollar facility, the Kodak Technology and Innovation Center, in Pudong, Shanghai, China, to develop localized medical imaging and information products for Asia-Pacific customers and to provide enhanced service to these customers, which include hospitals, clinics and imaging centers. Kodak said the Shanghai center, along with one in Italy and one to be opened in the US, will be sources of R&D innovation that will resemble typical healthcare environments for product demonstrations. Kodak has established a 16-member Asia-Pacific advisory board comprised of clinical and business leaders in the health care industry.    . . .    Although Japan dominates the liquid crystal display (LCD) market, the race for the $8 billion equipment and materials market by 2003 is "wide open" to US and European businesses, according to a report by Research and Markets, a Dublin, Ireland-based market research firm. "While the LCD market is not growing like the semiconductor market, the active matrix LCD is poised for explosive growth, necessitating the need for equipment and materials," the company said. Lindsay has been named executive vice president and CFO of StockerYale Inc., a Salem, N.H., provider of photonics-based products, effective August 30. Lindsay was recently CFO and director of international business development at The Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams); before that, he was vice president of finance at Agility Inc.
