ASIP Secures Contract
for Integration Technology
ASIP Inc. of Somerset, N.J., has announced that its Netherlands-based subsidiary, ThreeFive Photonics BV, has won a $2.5 million government contract from SenterNovem, part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. In collaboration with the Cobra Research School of the Technical University of Eindhoven, the Netherlands, ASIP will research technologies such as quantum-dot active regions, high-aspect-ratio bandgap structures and integrated device designs, which may help eliminate the barriers to achieving large-scale optoelectronic integration. Among these obstacles are high power dissipation and poor manufacturing yields.
