Spellman Acquires Del High Voltage

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Oct. 5 -- Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corp., a maker of high-voltage power supplies, DC-DC converters and power systems for medical and industrial applications, semiconductor manufacturing, scientific instrumentation, telecommunications, x-ray and automatic test equipment, has purchased the assets of Valhalla, N.Y.-based Del High Voltage Corp., formerly a division of Del Global Technologies Corp.

The acquisition includes Del High's customers, product lines, technology and personnel. Del High is a supplier of high-voltage power supplies and transformers, including the Bertan High Voltage and Dynarad Corp. portfolios of high-voltage power supplies and monoblock x-ray sources.

Loren Skeist, president and owner of Spellman, said, "We made this decision to acquire Del High Voltage based on their strength within the explosive detection systems industry, their position in the general high-voltage community, their strategically important customer base and their technology, which complements our own. Spellman's growth has been phenomenal over the past 10 years, with facilities opened in Mexico, Japan and China and our acquisition of Start-Spellman in 2001, which is now Spellman Ltd., our UK based manufacturing and design center."

Del High Voltage's 35,000-square-foot manufacturing and engineering facility will continue to operate under Spellman management in Valhalla.
