Brillian Corp., a Tempe, Ariz., former subsidiary of Three-Five Systems Inc., announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Holoeye Photonics AG, of Berlin, Germany, for the sale of its Gen II liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCoS) microdisplay products and components in North America and Europe. Holoeye, which makes diffractive optical elements for industrial and media applications, will begin distributing Brillian's microdisplays in key specialty markets, including medical, military, commercial and industrial applications. . . . Eastman Kodak Co. has received FDA approval for its mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) system, which it will immediately begin shipping to health care facilities in the US. Kodak said clinical trial results submitted to the FDA document that 39.4 percent of missed breast cancers could have been detected 14.8 months earlier using its CAD technology. The company is demonstrating its medical imaging and information product portfolio at the annual meeting of Radiological Society of North America, being held this week in Chicago. Kodak also said it is expanding its Health Imaging Group to include more types of health care organizations and medical specialities, and that it will provide an update on its expansion strategy and announce other IT initiatives at the annual meeting of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Feb. 13-17 at the Dallas Convention Center. . . .
