A stereomicroscope used to view marine specimens is one of the most popular exhibits at the Marine Biological Laboratory, a Woods Hole, Mass., research and teaching institution and a major Cape Cod tourist attraction, the Falmouth Enterprise reported recently. The stage and lenses of the Stemi 2000 CS microscope, made by Carl Zeiss MicroImaging Inc., are protected in a custom-built clear plastic case, but users can control the focus and manigification, illumination and interpupillary distance to produce a maximum stereo effect, said the company, a Thornwood, N.Y.-based subsidiary of Carl Zeiss AG.
