750 Companies to Participate in Photonics West 2005

Join your colleagues at the largest BiOS and photonics meeting yet!
   Photonics West 2005, to be held Jan. 22-27, boasts 75 technical conferences, 65 courses and workshops and an exhibition that includes more than 750 companies. As in past years, technical presentations are divided among four symposia: BiOS, which emphasizes biomedical imaging, diagnostics and therapeutics; LASE, on developments in laser sources and optics; MOEMS-MEMS, on microtechnology and nanotechnology; and OPTO, on the latest findings on integrated optical devices, including nanotechnology in photonics, semiconductor lasers and LEDs and displays.
   The OPTO 2005 plenary will feature the presentation of awards including best paper and young investigator. The Edward I. Moses of the University of Califonia and Lawrence Livermore National Lab will give the LASE 2005 keynote speech, "The National Ignition Facility: A National Resource for Experimental High-Energy-Density and Inertial Confinement Fusion Science."
