WILMINGTON, Mass., Jan. 19 -- Ahura Corp., a Wilmington, Mass., manufacturer of portable optical instrumentation and subsystems for homeland security and life science applications, announced it has raised $10 million in a Series B funding round, for a total investment of more than $22 million.
The South Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund, of Durango, Colo., led the Series B funding round; participants also included initial investors ARCH Venture Partners, Castile Ventures and ComVentures.
Ahura was founded in May 2002 by a team of innovators who previously cofounded CoreTek, which was acquired by Nortel. The company said it is generating multimillion dollar revenue from OEM and government sales and recently increased its sales staff and its investment in manufacturing. It said the additional investment will accelerate development and product introduction.
