OPTICAL SWITCHES

Piezosystem jena’s “Optical Fiber Switches” brochure details its piezoelectrically driven optical switches. The publication notes that the devices have advantages over other electromechanically driven systems, including stability, compactness, high switching speed and low power consumption. Typical switch parameters, such as crosstalk, insertion loss and backreflection, are provided for applications in communications, optical storage and measurement systems.
