DRS Technologies Inc. of Parsipanny, N.J., has been awarded a $9.2 million contract under the Javelin Anti-Tank Weapon System program to produce infrared detectors, Dewar assemblies and coolers for the systems' command launch unit. The company received the contract from Raytheon Missile Systems Co., part of Raytheon Co. of Tucson, Ariz. Its DRS Infrared Technologies division in Dallas will supply the instruments to fill the order, which is the fifth under a multiyear contract. Deliveries are expected to begin in April and to continue for approximately six months. The Javelin is a portable, medium-range system used by US Army and Marine Corps combat units.
