Trimble to Acquire Apache
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 21 -- Trimble, a maker of global positioning systems (GPS) technology, construction lasers, robotic stations and machine control products, announced today it has made a definitive agreement to acquire Apache Technologies Inc., of Dayton, Ohio, in an all-cash transaction. Apache makes construction and agricultural laser detection products for leveling and alignment applications. Closing of the transaction, anticipated in April, is subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Trimble said it expects the Apache acquisition to extend its laser product portfolio for handheld laser detectors and entry-level machine displays and control systems. Apache will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary within Trimble's Engineering and Construction business.
