Agilent Technologies Inc. has appointed
David Cooper as senior vice president of finance and treasurer. Cooper was formerly CFO of QRS Corp.
. . . DRS Technologies Inc. announced it was awarded approximately $50 million in new orders to provide production, spares and engineering services for the US Navy's AN/UYQ-70 advanced display systems and related computer peripheral equipment. The systems will be installed on the Navy's new Aegis destroyers, cruisers and other surface ships, as well as E-2C Hawkeye aircraft and USS Los Angeles class SSN 688 attack submarines. The contracts were awarded to DRS by Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors Tactical Systems in Eagan, Minn., the prime contractor on the AN/UYQ-70 program. The systems will be made at the DRS Laurel Technologies unit in Johnstown, Pa. Engineering services will be provided by the DRS Electronic Systems unit in Gaithersburg, Md.
. . . Lockheed Martin has received a contract valued at $26 million to deliver laser-guided training rounds (LGTRs) to the US Navy next year. The contract includes four one-year options for LGTRs each year through March 2009, totaling $114 million if all options are exercised. LGTRs are used to train Marine and Navy aviators in the use of laser-guided bombs. Work will be performed at the Lockheed Martin facility in Archbald, Pa.
