Essex Corp., a designer of optical components used by the US military and intelligence agencies, announced it has moved its corporate headquarters to 6708 Alexander Bell Drive, Columbia, Md. The new building includes expanded office and laboratory space, conference room capacity and secure space and enables Essex to consolidate several offices in the Columbia area. Essex has other facilities in the Washington metropolitan area, including a production facility in Columbia and its Windermere subsidiary office in Annapolis, Md.    . . .     nLight, a Vancouver, Wash., manufacturer of high-power semiconductor lasers, has named EO Technics, an optical system distributor and integrator based in Anyang, Korea, as its exclusive Korean distributor. It will handle sales and service of nLight's CW (continuous wave) and QCW (quasi-CW) high-power visible and near-infrared diode laser product line. EO TEchnics has offices in the US, Singapore and Taiwan and distribution branches in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. nLight's diode lasers, ranging from 635 nm to 1600 nm, are used in industrial, defense, medical and graphics applications.    . . .     Riber, a Rueil-Malmaison, France, maker of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems, said it has received an order for an MBE 7000 production machine, used in the production of power amplifier radio frequency integrated circuits. Delivery is expected in the first half of this year. Riber also received an order for a Compact 21 research machine for nitrides applications.
