Companies Ally for Silicon Carbide Development
II-VI Inc. of Saxonburg, Pa., SemiSouth Laboratories Inc. of Starkville, Miss., and neighboring Mississippi State University are collaborating to establish a SiC semiconductor manufacturing facility in Starkville. The initiative will center on II-VI's production capabilities in SiC substrates and SemiSouth's SiC epitaxial material growth technology. II-VI's Wide Bandgap Materials Group in Pine Brook, N.J., will provide technical and operational support during the process.
Also, II-VI announced that it has invested in SemiSouth. Terms of this transaction were not disclosed.
